Meet Our Certified Gemologist
Philip Watson, in continuing the family tradition, has dedicated 40+ years of his life to the world of jewelry-making, repair and design. Although he originally graduated with a political science degree, Philip soon discovered that his true love was in the appreciation of diamonds as natures’ art set into beautiful pieces of jewelry. He attended the Gemologist Institute of America, receiving his Gemology degree in Santa Monica, CA. This gave him the deep, hands-on experience needed in working with diamonds and gemstones.
As a graduate gemologist, Philip has received his Diamond Certificate as well as his Colored Gemstone Certificate. He is a member of the American Gem Society as well as a Senior member of the National Jewelry Appraisers Association. He has been a G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist (achieved in residence) since 1980. An A.G.S. Certified Gemologist since 1994.
